Though the video below is a hair long, once you hit play, you might get sucked in like I did. It’s a full explanation of the Ultraskiff 360, which I just learned about via a recent article on Gizmodo. I’ll let the video tell the story, but in short, this flying saucer-like personal water craft rolls features of a bass boat, flats skiff, jon boat, raft, and belly boat into one package that–at $1,300–costs less money than pretty much all of them. The design is definitely cool; I like how you can swivel 360 degrees instead of having to reposition if the wind’s blowing. But it also has a few flaws; you’re not getting into super-tight places in this like you would with a kayak. I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Smart and innovative or not going to replace any other options?
