Welcome to the Rut Reporters!

Welcome to Field & Stream's Rut Reporters site--the only one of its kind on the Internet. This is where you will get up-to-date reports, information, and insights about the stage of the rut in every region of the country. Our reporters have contacts throughout the country that will tell them what the bucks are doing RIGHT NOW--whether they're just forming bachelor groups, actively making scrapes, or recklessly chasing does. All that information--plus photos and videos--will be available right here. You'll be able to customize your hunting plan, for the day, week, or season based on what you find here.

And that's not all. At right you'll see the Rut Handbook, which is an ever-evolving database of information about hunting the rut. There you'll find tactics, pro hunting tips, skills, and essential information about whitetail biology and behavior.

Go to the monthly calendar and you'll not only find moon phases, but also information about Field & Stream's Best Days of the Rut. Just click on the date for more.

You can sign up for our newsletter and our Twitter account to get alerts about the latest rut news. You can also send us photos of your deer and enter a contest to win some fun prizes.

And you can become a Reader Rut Reporter yourself. Go to the Field & Stream page at Facebook.com and report on the stage of the rut in your area. You can report once a day for the entire season. Every week, we'll award some valuable hunting gear to a Reader Rut Reporter (see contest rules for details and prizes.)

Take a look. Have some fun. Let us know what you think--and have a great deer season.--The Editors

Hi, I don't know if it is possible or even feasible to do this, but could you include a rut report for Canada? I think you have a lot of readers in Canada, and sometimes it feels like you are just focusing on the United States. I know you have far more readers there, but if you could tailor some information to Canada, that would be great! I'm sure there are many Americans who like to travel to Canada to hunt as well!

Thank you very much!

The scrapes have doubled in the past week. A little spike was even showing some interest this evening. I have trees that look like toothpicks in the middle. Things are looking good.

Saw good numbers of bucks and does last weekend. Did not see any chasing, but did see a nice 140+ class scent checking doe trails.
