Snowmobile Slaughter Case: Judge Grants Change Of Venue

By Dave Hurteau

From the WQOW 18 News:

A judge has granted a change of venue for the trial of 1 of 3 Weyauwega men accused of running down and killing deer with snowmobiles.

Rory Kuenzi contends he can't get a fair trial in Waupaca County because of publicity about what authorities have characterized as thrill killings. Circuit Judge Philip Kirk agreed in a ruling Wednesday.

Tough to contemplate how someone could do something like that. I hope they get what's coming to them. Karma is a wheel, sometimes it rolls slowly and sometimes it rolls fast; but it always comes around to deliver what you deserve.

They need to set the bar pretty high on this punishment, so maybe the next morons think twice about it!

Take those men outback the courthouse and run them over with a snowmobile a few times. That should take care of the thrill of killing those deer.

Everyone deserves a fair trial, but these idiots did something stupid and harmful. They should not get any special treatment at all, they should be dealth with quickly and severely.

The don't seem to show any regret for what they did, the only thing they are regretful for is the fact they got busted.

They should do time and face heavy fines.

That is just disgusting and sick. Hope they see lots of jail time and lots of monetary fines.

I agree what these morons did was not right.
But some people are saying they should be brought outback behind the courthouse and run them over.
They killed animals, not humans. In the courts today a real morons can murder someone or molest a child and only serve 3 to 5 years, is that justice? Those are the real idiots that should be tied to a tree and then ran over.
Yes, they are idiots and should recieve a heavy fines and loose their hunting privelgdes, but not a life sentence.

A friend who is a warden in central Wis. told me that they were only arrested because on them had their grilfriend along for the ride, and she was appalled by the behaviour and asked them to stop. Whne they didn't she walked home and called the law. Hopefully she will still testify and it won't matter where they move the trial to. They deserve to have the same thing happen to them in my opinion.

They better move the case right out of the State of Wisconsin then, because I don't know anyone here that didn't hear all about and was not disgusted by it.

Molson, I couldn't disagree more. Failure in sentancing for other more serious crimes does not mean these clowns should get off lightly. Besides, anyone willing to do something this sick to any living creature should be taken out of the gene pool (if by incarceration, if nothing else.)

We had an idiot in Wyoming a few years ago that chased an elk herd to his son with his own private helicopter. The son shot a bull but both were arrested by the Game & Fish warden shortly thereafter. The guy fled the state after being released on bond but returned for trial. He got a substancial fine, I think suspended jail time, no more hunting rights, and his chopper confiscated by the state. When they put it up for auction there was only one bidder and she won. It was the criminal's wife.

What in the hell do they get out of running a deer down with a snowmobile? This guy is sick in the head... pleading insanity would deffinantly be believable. This guy needs not only some hefty jail time and some fines but some psychiatric help too. I dont even understand people who do stuff like this. They just make hunters look bad and we get to take all the blame. Seems like the stupidity of some will always be labeled or blamed as being hunters.

This case is something. If someone can run down a deer, roll over the top of it repeatedly, and then do it again I think there is something seriously wrong with them. If they could do this then they could do many other things that would be horrendous in the eyes of the law. I bike along back roads of Wisconsin all the time and I think about things like this a great deal. If someone with a truck happened to be loaded and would think they could get away with it I would not doubt that they would have a little fun and run me down too. Maybe just to scare me a little but the intent is the same. Get a thrill out of overpowering some/something. It makes me nervous and sad.

Pathetic, these guys should loose ALL their privleges(hunt/fish) for life. They should also loose their drivers lic. for a long period too. I mean if they would do this with a snowmobile what makes you think they would'nt do it with a car/truck.
As for the girl that had the courage to tell them to stop, them called the law. I thing she should get a reward from the "turn in a poacher" fund.
