Trivia Question: What Bow Did Bo Duke Shoot?
By Dave Hurteau
We all have our embarrassing secrets. I’ll spare you mine, for the most part. But for the purposes of this blog, I will admit to one: As much as I would like to trace my interest in archery to the likes of Hill, Bear, Pope, or Young, the truth is that the real greats were all before my time. No, being a product of the television generation (an embarrassing admission itself), my initial fascination with archery was sparked by the exploding arrows of—cringe—Bo and Luke Duke.
Here’s Bo, the handsome devil, in fine form. I have blacked out the name of his bow in Photoshop. Now, can anyone tell me what model he’s shooting? Of course, in doing so, you will be admitting that you are either a hopeless bow geek or a fellow fan of “The Dukes….”

I was always to busy looking at Bo Duke and the General Lee to be worried about the type of bow he used.
What I want to know is why are Bo and Luke messin around shooting their bows while poor ol' Uncle Jessie is likely to break his neck falling off the roof while trying to climb the rickety ladder?

Martin Warthog. Now how many of you guys did a search for Bo and Luke Duke images and came up with the same photo with the name of the bow on it. My first compound bow was a Bear Polar LTD with a whopping 33% let off, replaced that with a Browning Drake Flightmaster, then PSE Edge 50/50. I'm now shooting a Mathews Monster and a Z7. The bow in the photo in the avatar photo on my user name is the Bear Polar LTD. Still have it and is sure different if you ever try to go back and shoot it. The buck in the avatar was shot on opening day of Texas bow season Oct. 3rd 1981. I'd been bowhunting for three years before getting my first bow buck. Ten years later I finally took him to a Pope and Young scorer. He missed making Pope and Young net by a half inch. Grossed 142. I came home that night after taking the buck, told my wife (first year if marriage)I had gotten a deer. No big deal to her she expected it as I was going deer hunting. She's since found out that just because your going hunting doesn't mean your bringing home a deer.
Martin warthog, avid dukes fan!!!!!!!
Wonder if Jesse fell off that ladder when the outhouse blew up!

A Martin Warthog, but it kind of reminds me of my Bear Whitetail Hunter. Which happens to be my first I've ever owned, I Love it! I hunted several times with it this fall :)
