I did not know it was legal to snag fish in Canada???
Snagging for "Sport" is not good, how ever if you were in Florida , snagging Mullet (netting is better) to put in a smoker for eating something that tastes like if came from heaven, that is legal.
BABE RUTH OF FISHING!!!!
I am not sure about the east part of Canada but in every western province snagging is illegal. In Saskatchewan fish are to be released without being removed from the water if at all possible and if they must be removed they are to be released as soon as the hook is removed, that means no measurments or pictures. Purposly snagging a fish is a very easy way to injure them and is nothing I would be pround of.
Wow, you snagged a big pike, big deal, next time try to catch it the old-fashioned way, with a hooked-lip resulting from a strike to a nicely presented lure! Check-out my photos for Northern Pike from Saskatchewan that were caught the right way! Maybe not 45" Northern Pike, but 40-inchers nonetheless and released to be caught in the future by other fisherman...
Sir1: Holy **** I can't believe you caught such a monster pike.
Sir2: I snagged it on purpose because I couldn't catch it
Sir1:Oh...You are lame. *leaves*
