Description
My boyfriend took me bird hunting for the first time while I was visiting him in Iowa. I wasn't quite sure what to expect since I've spent the past 6 years living in an urban area. I fell in love with how excited the dogs got when they caught the scent of a pheasant. I was able to capture this picture of Chet bringing back a rooster to us!

I tried hard to win this contest (Winnie on page 11). But I've run out of friends to go vote for her! So now I can say it: this is the best photo in the contest. I think there are about a dozen really, really nice ones, but this is the best of the best. Well done.

Awesome photo! Good luck Kelli! I am married to an avid bird hunter, so I understand the thrill...unfortunately our lab hasn't a clue so I'll never witness him make a retrieve like this!
