Connecticut - Farmington River
Farmington River When the Housy gets too warm, many trout anglers move to the cold tailwaters of the Farmington below Hogback Dam. The 25 miles of river between Riverton and Farmington are the most popular; trout rise in the cooler water all summer. Be forewarned that these are heavily pressured and extremely fussy fish. Come prepared with 7X and 8X tippets and small flies, especially from the end of June into August.
