Arizona - Roosevelt Lake
Summertime night owls have a hoot after sundown hooking largemouths by the dozens on this sprawling reservoir (22,000 acres at full pool). Start from Windy Hill at the Salt River end. Rig a boat-side lamp to see the bank as you cast curly-tailed jigs. Retrieve along shelves where bass have quick access to deep water. The first time you go, hire a guide who can help you learn the rocky areas. Roosevelt Lake Visitor Center, 928-467-3200.
