Q:I live in western New York in the Wayne, Monroe, and Livingston county area. I would like to try fly fishing small creeks and streams connected to Lake Ontario. I was wondering if I could get some advice on what time of year is best to fish them, and some of the best flies to use in this area.

Q:Fly fishing question: As some of you may have figured out by some of my questions, I am trying to get back into fly fishing. I did it many years ago with a Walmart rig. Now I bought some middle grade rods and reels and stocked them with good line AT THE WEIGHT MARKED ON THE ROD. Here is my question: Of all the leader types, which one should I use? Does a 4X go with a 4 weight and 5X with a 5? What length should I use, what lbs test? Does it make a difference?
