Q:Anybody here fish PA's famous Spring creek in State college? Took my first trip down for the Sulfur hatch and the hatch was slow but olive scuds were doing the trick and caught 12 in 3 hours. Anyone else fishing there? What are you catching them on?

Q:My husband bought a Horrocks Ibboston Rod at a garage sale and we are unable to locate the model on the internet anywhere. It has a Native American on the left side with MOHAWK in red next to it. Under Mowhawk Tubular Fibre Glass Made in USA and a red H-I in a cream diamond. On the right side the NO 1423-76 6 1/2 T10 with BERKSHIRE under that. On the bottom the company name and city state. The label is all done in cream red black and gold. The handle is full cork with brass reel holder and eyelets. The rod is brown and is a 2 pc. Any ideas of the year and value. As we collect all kinds of rods this one has evaded us on the internet. Thank you for your assistance.

Q:I'm thinking about heading to Montana for some fly fishing. I have only fly fished a few times but know enough to get by I believe. Where should I go that I can fish from shore, camp nearby and see some great scenery?

Q:Since I'm not right next to fly-water anymore, I was wondering if anyone out here has experience fishing the Great Lakes for salmon and steelhead? If I'm going to have to drive 4 hours for a decent trout stream I might as well drive 7 for a decent steelie or salmon stream. I have read a whole lot about it, but have never actually done it. I know the 3 main types of flies to look into: streamer, egg, leech. It would be sweet to throw out some patterns/streams to hit. From what I've seen fall is the time to go and I'm looking to hit Lake Michigan or Superior (haven't decided which would be a better bet). I'll leave it there and see what responses I get.

Q:Anybody have experience fishing in the Tahoe area? I'll be in Lake Tahoe, CA, for a conference the last week of June. I'll have my late afternoons and evenings free, plus I hope to stick around for a couple extra days to fish. Anyone have recommendations for fly fishing that wouldn't require a guide? I'd love something close by for the evenings during the conference, but I'd also love something remote--maybe either small streams or alpine lakes--for a few days afterwards. I was researching the Upper Truckee, which looked promising, but it looks like it isn't open to fishing until July 1. Also, what's the deal with not being able to fish near the mouths of streams that empty into Lake Tahoe? Does that also mean you can't fish those streams upstream from the lake? Lots of rules, lots of water, and lots of questions ...
