Q:Okay, I have asked the question earlier, but think that the internet ate it. I am looking at getting some type of water craft so that I can get off shore. Since I am trying to keep costs down I was looking at either a canoe with a trolling motor or a jon boat. Canoe is easier to transport without a trailer. Primarily looking to fish close inshore and in rivers/creeks. Any suggestions.

Q:On the Jim River here in SoDak there are some stretches of the river that stay open year round. Is there any technique that would work to catch cats out of these open stretches of water? Most of them are accessible from shore. The Jim is muddy year round and cats are about the only fishable species. In the spring, worms work best, in the summer stink bait and live bait work best and in fall stink bait works best. But what would work best now? Im sure most of the cats have their heads buried in the mud.
