Q:While kayak fishing,I hooked a carp on a Yamamato senko, and after pulling me around the pond,he broke my Ugly Stik and I lost him.The rod broke just above the first eye. What do you think?Anyone else got similar stories?

Q:When fishing for gar, what type of hook should I use, because I can never get them all the way to shore. They seem to come unhooked right when they start coming out of the water. They are never very deeply hooked.

Q:Do any of ya'll do any bowfishing? I go several times a year and put the hurtin' on some spotted gar, carp and buffalo. It's a blast and a great way to sharpen your skills for bow season.

Q:For the last couple of years I have heard of two recently imported species of Asian carp that are rapidly growing in population in the Missouri River and in many states across the country... white amur or "grass carp" and the "big head". I recently went bow fishing for them. It was kind of shocking to see these relatively new species growing so rampantly in population but it was a blast. It was like stalking deer. The fish were big, averaging around 25 pounds but going as large as 40 pounds and averaging three to four feet in length. The meat was among the best I have eaten. I had it deep fried but in that form it tasted like grouper or snapper. Others cook them like lobster and say you can't tell them apart. Has anyone had any experience with these? What do you think of them?
