Q:Looks like we might be taking a family vacation to North Carolina's Outer Banks in July. Any input you'd care to offer regarding surf fishing for that area and time of year? Not really a beach person but I think I can manage a week of seafood and surf fishing. Happy new year, all.

Q:While snorkeling in Hawaii I was goofing around with a puffer fish because they are so comical when another fish came up and bit me in the ankle. Has this happened to others? Is this common? And yeah, I probably had it comming.

Tactics for Summer

Q:I set up a couple rods with very large bait, and very large(16/0-20/0) circle hooks. I take my kayak and paddle out past the breakers(it's usually dark by this time) a few hundred yards and drop the big baits. I come back and tighten up the slack and loosen up the dragand wait......Bzzzzzzzz goes the drag!!! I pick up the rod and patiently fight the creature for about 40 minutes. The fish is a 6' Sand Tiger shark. Not a very large one, but a great fighter!! Slowly I let him swim freely back into the water. I call it Extreme Beach Shark Fishing. The sharks vary in species and size getting up to 9-10ft long.It is the greatest thing I have ever done...living life on the edge I say. The question is, has anyone tried or experienced this? If not.....TRY IT!!!!

Q:My father and I are going fishing in Panama City in two kayaks. What bait are redfish in PCB biting on this time of year. Also if you know a good location for this type of fishing please tell me.
