Q:Planning a trip to Key West at the end of August. I have a 6 weight fly rod... obviously not enough for tarpon or any large critters. How about bonefish? Or would I be better off just finding a guide and/or renting a rod? Renting a rod I can manage, a guide may be out of my price range.

What to Use

Q:Some of you may know that I am going to the keys in a couple of days. I'm planning on fishing for a veritable plethora of fish, but I would like to know about the availability of bait. My favorite thing to do when targeting reds or trout is to go out and catch some el-y's and supplement that with finger mullet and bull minnows. Are there as many el-y's and other in the keys as in north Florida? And if not what bait, other than shrimp of course, would you recommend?

What to Use

Q:Would the Abu Garcia 6500c3 be good for ocean city maryland rt 50 bridge catching med size blues and some stripers... If so what do I combo it with keep in mind I wanna still have some sport in it. Could that reel work a lure or plug fine since it is big and round or would it be to slow to? Also would it be good for the surf somewhat?

Q:Hey guys, I bought 3 Penn reels at auction yesterday.I am not really familiar with the brand, other than I know they are top end stuff.Anyone know roughly the value of 1970's era model #85,model#49 and model#209 reels in very good to excellent conditions?? Thanks

What to Use

Q:So I've seen people using lures from the surf? Is that even worth wasting my time? But I was wondering if I did cast lures which i would like to do because to be quite honest I don't like casting out live bait I'm a bass fisherman so I like the constant jerking the lure and messing around with it moving it all over. But anyways would I need like a seven or seven and a half foot pole with like Uhh idk 25 lb braid to get it out there or a big spinning combo like nine foot rod?and if so I do have seven and seven half foot bass rods medium -heavy action with decent reels will that do fine ?
