Q:Anybody know of a reputable fishing charter service in/near Holden Beach, North Carolina. I'll be down on vacation in early August. I've never used a charter service and not sure what to look for. Also, whats a good target fish for that time of year? Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Q:I'll be in gulf shores middle of April for a bachelor party. We are doing a charter one day. Any suggestions on a good one? Also what fish are biting best that time of year over there? I'd prefer something big and mean, like cobia, if its not too early. It'll be about ten guys so lookin for a big boat we can all get on.

Q:This is a public service message that I will pass on. Attention to all Alabama fishermem/women-- The Alabama Department of Fish and Game has requested that all Lionfish caught in Alabama waters be turned over to them so that they can be studied. Caution is advised in the handling of Lionfish because even though the venom that they carry in their needle-like dorsal fins is seldom fatal, it is extremely painfull and can cause nausea and breathing difficulties. The Lionfish is a non indigenous species of fish that has shown up in Alabama waters even to the extent of the shallows. Since the presence of the Lionfish was first discovered in Alabama water, no real determination of how they were originally introduced has been discovered. Research is needed on the species to determine the food that they are eating here in the Alabama ecosystem along with how fast they are reproducing, the survival rate of the offspring, and just how detrimental their presence can be. Thank you and if you have any questions about the Lionfish as an invasive species please contact the Alabama Department of Conversation and Natural Resources. Thank you ----- Santa
