Dave Hurteau’s article “Head Games” in the Aug/09 F&S reminded me of this broadhead test run by Michigan Out of Doors.
I don’t agree with how they define accuracy - it should be referred to as precision - but their results shooting different broadheads from a bow shooting machine tend to more reflect my experience. As best as I can tune a bow, different broadheads have different points of impact from field points and from each other. I usually find one or two broadheads that do shoot very close to my field points and do this quite accurately (nice small groups). Changing fletching, arrow spine, and broad head weight also affect point of impact and accuracy. What is your experience? Is it just in my head?
