I bought a high country sniper in 1991. From what I remember, it was around $350 back then. I still use the bow although I really have an itch to go get a Mathews. I really like the sniper because it has wheels, not cams and is very easy to draw. I've killed plenty of deer with it.

The bow is probably worthless; alot has changed in compound bows since this model was made.

I have an old HighCountry BruteForce. It's my backup but i'm considering going back to it. Great bow. Fast for that era.

I have a High Country Sniper XL...I don't know about anyone else but I love this bow. Seriously, you can have all your other bows..I'm a big guy and this bow still throws an 36" XX75 2417 downrange at over 224 FPS and I can hit anything I shoot at inside 200 meters with it, and at a greater accuracy than anyone I know that has the "top of the line" or so they say now. But then, no one makes a bow that will support a 36" draw and 82 lb pull anymore...but I guess the sport has been coopted by boys and the REAL men are left to antiques.

I'm still hunting and killing with my High Country Split Force that I've had 12 to 13 years. I kind of get an itch for a new bow but then I get it out and shoot it and realize it still gets the job done quite well. As far as what an older model bow goes I'd have to go with Jay you would pretty much give it away. If you really want a new bow and don't need the older one you might consider letting a youngster that might want to get into bow hunting have it for a few bucks or so. It would be a great way to help someone get started in the sport.
