I am in Need of a Crossbow

Uploaded on September 06, 2010

I am looking for a very strong very accurate crossbow for blacktail deer, wild hogs, and possibly elk. My dad and I exterminate hogs as favors for our wine country neighbors. I use a 12 gauge with slugs and my dad would use the crossbow or vise versa. Our blacktail would also be takin by the said crossbow. Under 200 dollars please. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think your in the range of 350.00 and up for a decent xbow, plus ya know your going to need a scope theres another 200.00..... so good luck!! shop til ya drop, freak!

Panfry,

The under $200 limit extremely reduces your options. Get on Bass Pro and Cabela's websites and you can get an idea of the market prices for ready-to-go crossbow packages. To just get a decent setup you are looking at $300 minimum, and I'd say more like closer to $500. That's with bow, scope, quiver, and three or 4 bolts that come with it.

In my opinion, Barnett's are junk so stay away from them. Horton, Ten Point, and Parker seem to be of the best quality, even with their low-end or mid-range models.

look at the barnett they make some of the best and fastest xbows on the market but you will always have someone who dont like them but i can say that two but i wont the best thing to do is go somewhere you can hold and shoot them that way you can feel hear them then make your choice that the best way .but look at the jackel for your price i think they are aroud 300 with everything

it amazes me that people down ding for a meassage between two individuals... ya know, he (panfry) asked a question, I (machinegunner) gave a response, and we were done with it... yet someone comes along does not understand the language, or is so "high and mighty" that how dare we either get a inexpensive cross bow, and how someone said to heck with it....

NOT cool.

Yes, I too believe that Barnett are fine quality crossbows, or for that matter, any piece of equipment that cost more then low end materials SHOULD be better, that alone makes sense, thats why it cost more.

I say to all, GOOD luck this season, and be safe.
