The Compound
I'm looking into buying a Bear Mauler just wanting to see what people think about it and bear bows in general.

Well here is my opinion. It looks like a pretty nice bow and I have seen some good reviews on it. With that said I'm not blown away with Bear bows. If I was looking at spending that money I would probably look at PSE bows. For a bow in that price range I would say you wouldn't go wrong with PSE. They are typically really nice bows for the price. I wouldn't put them up against a Matthews but I would put them up against a Bear any day of the week. Again it is just my personal opinion. I hope you find it useful. Please feel free to check out my site a do some price comparisons. We sell more than PSE I just happen to like them.

I don't know much about Bear bows but they seem to get good reviews based on Quality for the price. I'd stay away from their lower end stuff probably.
I do not shoot bear but they were the bow of the U.S. before mattews or hoyt or PSE. Bear used to be top of the line and still make quality bows. I would put a bear up agaist PSE because bear will compete with it in every category and beat it in realiability. And lastley why do people compare everything to mattews when they are junk, ever since ross left they are terrible and un reliable. I owned one and got rid of it within 2 days and I know several of others that are mattews freaks that changed bows the last two years because of how unrelaible they are.
