To best answer this question, I have to ask...which .22 are you using for groundhogs?

For rimfires,any scope with a 1" tube will be better than one with a 3/4" tube. I have a Simmons 4X with a 32mm objective on my 10-22 and it works quite well. I also have several old Weaver V22-A scopes with 7/8" tubes that I like a lot. I don't take long shots with a rimfire, mostly 25 to 50 yards, but sometimes out to 100 yards. Over 50 yards, I usually get out the .223.
