I looked at the Leupold VSII scopes and didn't see a silver in the 4X12X40 that you wanted. You may want to check out the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5 X 14 X 40 in silver. It has the Niko-ples crosshair in it, I have 9 Nikon scopes and have nothing but excellent results from all of them. I have 5 Buckmasters and they have served me for a long time without any failures. The glass if first class. I think for what you want you would be pleased with that scope. It also has side focus on it. I like that feature especially on the range. The scope sells for approx. $330.00.

Thanks for the input. I know -i couldnot fine the one i wanted in silver- Color should be the last thing but it just looks cool. Shooting only 300 yards -do i need 14 power. If the color didnt matter -which leupold would you go with?
Thank you so much -Joanie

I'd go with a VX-III personally, I don't like the adjustments on the VX-II. I also think a 4-12 would be plenty of magnification for 300 yards. 14 power is nice though, that's what I've got on .308; but then again you'll pay more for it. One suggestion I have is get an adjustable parallax. You can't go wrong with Leupold though. I'd say the scope you have picked out will suite your needs well.

All I shoot is leupold and love them. Honestly call them they can make custom scopes to your demands. I have a couple that are simlar to the VX 2 but made to my specs. I know they have certain models in a silver finish so just call them and see what they can do, I have always had good luck with them and great customer service. The other option is send them a letter with all the details and see what they say. Best of luck.
