The Firing Line
Hi all,
I have several squirrels in my workshop ceiling. The ceiling has insulation, but no dry wall or any covering. A friend suggested using an air rifle and some rat shot. What would you all suggest? I've tried traps with no luck. Thanks!

I've killed squirrels inside a garage with an air rifle, no over-penetration. Try baiting your traps wit peanut butter or Payday candy bars.
an air rifle will get the job done, just make sure you don't damage your ceiling.
I'd use a trap, simply because a decomposing squirrel may get a bit ripe.
Your best bet is half a dozen rat traps baited with peanut butter. Your next step is to patch the holes that are letting them in. Use steel wool in any cracks so the squirrels don't chew to make them larger.
Traps are the right way to go but if you find thats not working try 22 cb longs or cb shorts, just about everyone has a 22 and there nearly as quiet as a air rifle.
I've killed a couple of squirrels with my air gun. It drops the squirrel instantly and doesn't over penetrate.
