chapstick candle

Uploaded on January 29, 2012

chapstick candles... all you need is a twist-style tube of chapstick and a match, and if you don't have a match, then use a small twig. All you need to do is twist the chapstick all the way out of the plastic case, light a match, the quickly put the non-burning end into the hole on the end of the chapstick. press the match down until most of the wood of the match is inside the wax. if you dont have matches, just put a small twig in it and light the end. If you want a bigger flame, set the "candle" down sidways on a medium or large strip of birch bark or just paper, the wax will melt onto it and make it burn even brighter than it would normally. Since any outdoorsman worth the title always carries some source of fire any time he goes into the field, all you need to do is add a tube of chapstick to your pack. I think most of us can manage to fit that..
