Create your own cheap downrigger

Uploaded on April 01, 2012

By using an old milk jug, some fishing line, a rope, and a household kichen clip you can create your own downrigger. First you should fill the milk jug with sand or rocks. Then you can attatch the kichen clip to the handle of a milkjug(a 4L milkjug, or the top of a smaller milk container) by tying it with fishing line. The clip should hold your fishing line so that the lure stays at the desired depth. To be more accurate you can set markers on the rope at different intervals such as 1 foot, 2 feet, 3 feet, ect. This way you will know how far down your milk jug and lure are.
