When trying to remove pine pitch without pulling hair nothing works better then creamy peanut butter. Just apply peanut butter over pine pitch and let set for 15-20 seconds. Then wipe away all peunit butter with clothe. No Pain!
Have you tried WD-40 ? Works well too.

Go-jo hand cleaner works great also. Keep a container of it in camp.
never tried wd40 what i use works too but not sure how safe it is. i always use gas
vaseline works great also
A local tree expert uses cooking oil! It worked great; and didn't have an oder.
cooking oil or baby oil, easy on the skin and removes pitch as well as roofing tar and simular stick ons.
