Found a spent 12 ga. shell in the middle of my farm. Trespassers. Probably why my turkey rich farm is void of turkey this year.

I shot my first jake this season. It had a 4.5 inch beard and weighed 16 pounds. A few days later I had a huge tom strut for 10 minutes towards my decoy. It got within 45 yards and then saw the Ford logo on the back of my friends "camo" hat.

he weighted 25 pnds and had two 11 in beards and one seven
then the last mornin i had three jakes and two toms come by me the toms never got close enought they just stayed out at abou 75 yrds and gobbled so i shot a jake at about 8 yrds

First two birds ever this year.
1st - 21.6 lbs, 9.5 inch beard, 1 inch spurs. 40 yds .my dad was with me for the hunt, and it was definitely a memory i will never forget, so thanks to all those fathers who go hunting with their children.
2nd - 16lbs 3 inch beard, little spurs, it was a jake. 14yds

Both were takin in ontario, on private land with my benelli nova, and 3 inch federal shells.
I have pictures of both in my pictures section.

Oh yes. Had a great season and got four longbeards (the limit here is five). Only one was an early morning bird, the rest were killed mid-day and all were gobbling and drumming---high adrenaline stuff. They were all two year olds 15 to 18 pounds.

My year was bittersweet, it was my last youth hunt. I think it was my 8th turkey. I saw my first gobbler of the day within 30 minutes of sitting up. It was about a 60 yard shot and I shot above it. It was a monster would have been my biggest bird. My biggest was my first, it was 25 lbs, 11 3/4 inch beard and about an inch spurs. So I miss and im mad. About 1 hour later a bearded hen comes in and I shoot it. I was very excited what a way to end my youth hunt. No, there is always a catch. I shot the beard off. There was strands everywhere. It was about 8 inches too. Oh well, i guess it is better to get these agonizing hunts out of the way while im young. I have many more hunts ahead of me.
