I've only got jakes . My biggest was a 19 pounder. MY golden caught a 24 pound 11 & 1/2 beard.
I have killed 8 or so turkey and my biggest was actually my first when I was 5 i killed a 25 or so pound tom with an 11 3/4 in beard, 1 inch spurs. I can't wait until season comes in so i can finally hunt on my own. Goodbye youth hunting
My biggest was a south Alabama Eastern that weighed just over 21 pounds, but I feel the same way Cuz Strickland does---They're all trophies. If it hadn't been for two-year-old gobblers last spring, I'd be eating store bought turkey for Thanksgiving this fall. My turkey gun is a Mossberg 835 Ultra-mag with a Cabala's red dot scope. I have a Rem. 11-87 12ga., but the Mossberg is handier and the extra power from the 3 1/2 in. mag is reassuring in thick brush, etc. Good hunting to you.
My biggest was about 21 pounds and had a 9" beard and 1" spurs. My turkey gun is a Mossberg 535 12 ga.
My biggest was this years spring bird 25 lbs 10 3/8 beard 1 1/4 spurs. It ranked 15th in the state of wisconsin with a shotgun for spur size. My turkey gun is a NEF Pardner turkey gun and I shoot rem nitro #4's With a tru glo red-dot
my biggest what 27 1/2 pounds with a 12 inch beard and 1 3/4 inch spurs i killed him with my Charles daily 12 gauge and that is what i have killed all my turkeys with and that is what i will continue to shoot because i love it
21.1 lbs 9 inch beard, 1 inch spurs. It was also m first turkey
By Spur length 1 5/8 inches.
By Beard length 13 1/4 inches
By number of beards 5 for a total of 29 3/8 inches
By weight 21 lbs 6 oz
20 lbs, 11 inch beard, 1 inch spurs. Average bird I would say
I've used my good'ol 12g 870 express more often than not. But I would like to get a semiauto 12g in camo to use for buch waterfowl and turkey.
Can't eat the beards or spurs!!!
The young ones taste best!!!
Big one: 22 lbs, 9 in beard, 1 in spurs.
Best Tasting: Last spring, Stubble beard, next to no spurs.
But they are all true TROPHIES!!!
Every bird I have taken is a trophy. My best is a 20 pound bird with 10 3/4" beard and 1 1/2" spurs. He is my biggest bird and the hardest bird to call in. I worked him for 2 hours and 400 yards. My turkey gun is a Remington 870 Super Mag with a 26" tube and an Undertaker choke. I stoke it with 3" Winchester Supremes. Love my shotgun and use it for everything.
28.6 lb
12 3/4 beard
1 1/4 spurs
He was tender and tasted just fine. Like old men old gobblers don't run around like the kids or in this case jakes. All that excersize makes for tough lean muscle...

Out of 62 birds the biggest went 26 lb at the La Plata MO check station.
Longest beard 12 1/4 inch
Longest spurs 1 3/8
Most beards 5 totalling 35 and a fraction inches. Had him stuffed.
Beekeeper saw him when he visited last fall. Took him with a bow while deer hunting in the fall.
My first and only one was 27 lbs. 10 in beard 1 1/8 in spurs.
Those corn fed turkey are something else...
The biggest turkey I have ever shot was 26 ½ lbs. It had an 11 inch beard and ¾ inch spurs. I shot this turkey in Pierce County Wisconsin at about 2 in the afternoon. The gun that I use is a youth model Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun. I have also tried an 870 Remington 12 gauge shotgun. The 20 gauge is not as powerful as a 12 gauge, of course, but it gets the job done. In fact, the 20 gauge has shot more birds than the 12 gauge.
20 lbs. 5 oz. 11" beard 1.25" spurs: also my first turkey
