Someone just took a 700+ pound black bear in Wisconsin. He said he was a first time bear hunter - if I ever get the chance to go bear hunting, I hope to be half as fortunate.

I seen this. This is a dream bear for sure! I would love to be able to get a shot at a bear this size sometime in my life.
I've gone twice for this animal and was skunked. Anticipation is 95% in hunting this elusive animal!
This one is so big it's SCARY!
There's a fellow in my neck of the woods who I consider to be a pretty successful hunter. If you judge him by his trophies in his trophy room he's at the very least a taxidermist's wet dream.
Even with all the things he has mounted his biggest black bear(all his bears are full standing mounts)is maybe 2/3 the size of this rascal. That's truly amazing. I bet that was an unbelievable experience for the WI hunter. WOW!
This truly is a very large black bear. I have personally seen a bear that was weighed at 603 and he was small by comparison. Trophy of a lifetime.
That is a very large bear. I saw one once that was 560+, it was huge
Just noticed this post. Holy smokes, what a bruin!!! I saw a 425# live on foot and thought that one looked like a black VW. Once we took him, talk about a drag getting him out. I can't imagine trying to move this monster. While I'd really like to have one that size, glad it's not my taxidermy bill, or me trying to justify it to my wife. haha.
I had one hit by a semi in 2004 that when we stopped by the office on the way to the landfil and weighed him he weighed 537 pounds. We think that he came out of the Dolly Sods Wilderness area. That is the biggest bear that I have ever seen. The biggest bear that I have know killed by a hunter hear in WV has been in the 465 pound range.
There's been a very nice one hanging around our hunting area the last several years but he must den up early as we only see anything of him in warm weather but with this year's early season, we may well meet up with him. I think he also has a taste for lamb so that'd be a good one to remove from the gene pool.
700lbs JEEEEEEEEEZUS what a beast. Wonder what the heaviest on record is? this has got to be pushin it. A 9yr old in AR killed one that weighed 450 and it looked like a small car!
There was a man that killed a 900 pound black bear in Pa. and lived here in WV. We worked with the Pa officers and after several months of investigation we found out the man killed the bear illegal. It would have been a new world record. What a shame it couldn't have been killed by a lawful hunter. It was things like this that made me get down on people. I had to be careful and remind myself that not everyone was a a##hole like this guy.
Yeah, Sarge what do they say? Only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel.Damn thats still a huge black bear!!! That boy been eatin good!!!LOL
Wisconsin has huge bears every year. Last year a friend of mine accompinied his cousin who is 13 and the bear he shot was i belive 712lbs they kid shot it in the head and was unable to get an official score but it is believed to e about a 22inch skull. in the past few years ive personally seen 5 mounts or taged bears over 600lbs. i ll see what i can do about getting pics or stories from this year and years passed. I live in marinette county, i feel safe saying that because the waiting list for tags is 5 years long i have 2 years under my belt and plenty of bears on camera. Take a look at my pictures i have a den and i belive 2 diffrent bears.
