Good news to share

Uploaded on January 03, 2012

Those of you who are regulars on here have seen lots of pictures of my kids and heard lots about how much I enjoy sharing creation and the great outdoors with them. This summer, my little girl, my daughter and bear hunting pal, will be trading the camos for a wedding dress as I walk her down the aisle. Hard to believe, seems like I just took her squirrel hunting and fishing for the first time just a few short years ago. They grow up much too fast. When I asked if I could wear my camo bibs, I heard the words "no" and "tux". Can you imagine, me in a tux?

Congratulations to your family's upcoming addition.
I trust your daughter had the good sense to marry a fellow outdoorsman.
P.S.--Please post photos of you wearing tux.

Congratulations.

Nothing wrong with a tux... you are 007 after all.

Perhaps you could negotiate for a camo vest or tie?

Congratulations 007. No I haven't seen kid pictures, I'll have to go look. With luck maybe you'll have more relatives to teach to hunt and fish.

Yes, local kid, 10 minutes from here. I went to elementary thru high school with his dad, he comes from a good family. He's not as hard core with hunting as we are but we can probably fix that. He's in the national guard, has a good work ethic, and seems to be pretty fond of my daughter. Thanks to all for the good wishes, I know she'll be appreciative. I told her she wouldn't have time for hunting and fishing now and she made it clear that she would.

It is hard to imagine the day when my baby girl(now 3 and a half) will bring home a guy she intends to marry, though it's a lot closer than i care to admit. It will be nice if me and the fella share some common interests(besides my daughter) such as hunting and fishing. In the meantime i cannot worry about such times and prefer to pretend that it's a long way off. Again, congrats and much happiness to you and yours.

Him being in the National Guard is another plus for him 007. I have been very fortunate to have two fine son-in-laws that think that the old man is great and do anything in the world that they can do for me and treat my daughters like they are gold. They are both local fellas too. They are both hunters and spend alot of time hunting with the grandkids.

Also looking forward to a pix of you in camo, oops, I mean tux!

The Forestry gal in the next office from me let her husband wear a camo bowtie and cumberbun with his black tux at their wedding. Maybe she will let you go that far.

To save you some time looking thru pics, here's one of my kids. We're discussing a compromise that would allow my Mossy Oak necktie. Thanks for your kind words, all.

007,,I hope you are ready for this wedding. I gave my first daughter away 15 years ago and then my second 8 years ago. You love em,you feed em,you watch em grow, you try to make sure they learn right from wrong and you hope like heck you did everything right in doing so. I served my country in a bad era and did some really hard things in my life. But walking my little girl down that asle was by far the toughest thing I have every done. Took 16oz of Black Velvet to keep me from shaking ,but it couldn'y keep the tears from rolling down my face. I wish you all the grace of a father and all the happiness that comes with it. My your time be blessed and your daughters day be a special memory for you both. Congrats

DHRick, I've already tried to explain to her how hard this is going to be as she'll always be my little girl and to not take my moodiness for disapproval. No, I'm not ready at this point and I've got 4 months to try to do so. Thanks again to all of you for your good wishes. How about a bridal photo sometime this summer? Regards, my friends.

Told my daughter and her fiance that the dowry for her hand would be a good used 4x4 truck, a couple of good, straight hounds, and a quality firearm. She huffed that she was worth a NEW truck and a whole pack of good hounds. Now that's Daddy's girl!!!

Congratulations 007 to you and your family. My oldest son got married this summer to an amazing girl. I could not have hand picked one any better.
It was a beautiful wedding and my heart swelled with pride as they walked down the isle as husband and wife. My thoughts though were exactly as you said, they grow way too fast and before you know it they are out the door and making a life of their own.
Best wishes to all.
