Hey 007, I did notice that you haven't been posting much. Hopefully all is well and it's because you have been in the woods!
I am coming to DC from the 9th through the 16th on Nov., just bought the tickets on Thursday. I have a fair amount of work to do but would love to grab that coffee if you are going to be around the latter half of the week. The first weekend is pretty much taken up with my dad's 70th birthday.
Let me know if that works and we can figure out how to connect up.
Regards,
chuckles

How did that Shaw rifle sight in? Mine was about 1.5" with a couple different factory loads. Looking forward to finding the one it likes.

Hi Steve,
It does not like the 180gr Barnes MRX so much. Those shoot to about 1.5-2" groups at a hundred. That is fine for the ranges in MN but I would be reluctant to take that elk hunting. Probably being too picky but I know it could do better. It worked fine for the close range bear hunting with all holes touching at 20yds.
The 150gr TSX on the other hand turned in more like MOA with one group going to about a 1/2". That is more like it.
I really have not had time to do as much testing as I would like but I will not be using it for deer this year so there is plenty of time. I am hoping for an elk hunt next fall and would like to use it as my backup rifle. My .270 is just too good to not be first up.
Are you taking yours out for deer?

I am not sure if i'll be able to get any time off for rifle season this year as i have a lot of time off for archery and also have some family things to deal with. I only had one session on the bench but it was definetly accurrate enough for deer in the Northeast. When i find it's preferred load i expect MOA or better but it's not far off. Congrats on your successful bear hunt.
