i heard that some of our soldiers get access to a cumputer every once in a while. im sure if that is true many soldiers that hunt and fish go on this site if not then the soldiers who are not currently over seas will have a chance to see this. i was thinking there should some link although it doesnt diretly go with hunting or fishing just for people like us who have the ability to go online often thanks to the heros that protect us just to leave some kind of comment for them thanking them for all they do
We keep all of those who fight for our freedom in our prayers. Thank a vet
At times we get access to computers, but we can't always get to the sights we want to view. I apreciate all that F&S does for us, and all of your support. I am home now for good, after 3 trips to the desert I've been told I can't go back. Something about compound battle stress. Any way thank you for being there for us.
Patch, from one vet to another, thank you for your service, and if you're ever in Oklahoma, I've got a cold beer with your name on it!
patch ans teebox thank you both for all you do. i have a quick question if your ever back on this. i was considering joining the military i was thinking army just to see what i can do to help out and the retire to the national guard. did you think the military was worth it?
I just graduated Infantry School on Ft. Benning and am currently awaiting Airborne School. The Army is a great thing but make sure it is what you really want to do before you join. Despite the competition between the different branches of service, anyone serving this country is doing a great deed. Thanks to all those before me as well as those to come.
Hey 11Bravo, congrats on infantry school and you will love jump school. Thanks for your service bro, I am in the AF. I am an Army brat as my dad served 24 years and retired as an SFC.
Thanks. I couldn't help but notice the sere in your name. I have a spot reserved in Special Forces Assessment and Selection and will eventually have to go through SERE. Thank you as well...the Air Force saves a lot of lives down on the ground.
I am currently serving in Baghdad with the U.S. Army Reserves and I am so ready to get back home. I went home on leave in December and done some duck hunting. I look forward to the field and stream magazine to come in the mail. Thanks for everything you do.
mattreney: I, in no way, shape, or form regret joining the Army the summer before my senior year of high school. I left less than a week after graduation, and I havent looked back since. I have been to Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait (I did Desert Storm the first time), and ended my active duty at Fort Knox, KY with the 194th Armored Brigade. I went on to serve eight more years in the Army Reserve and the National Guard while I was going to college on my GI Bill, and got a excellent home loan with my VA certification. Most of all, now out in the civilian work force, I have the self discipline and self motivation to succeed. The leadership lessons I learned while serving put me ahead of the class. I have life long friends and enjoy community service with my local VFW post, where a cold beer is always waiting. Most of all, we vets have entire culture, and language all our own that civiliands just dont understand. I know you're facing what is a difficult decision and I wish you god speed on your journey
infantry08: Good luck and god speed on your journey at Camp Mackall with SF selection...if you come through Camp Gruber, OK during SF Q school, I ve got a cold beer for you too!!!
huntsduck20: I pray you return home to your loved ones once again on one piece, I've got a cold beer for you as well...Did you get your limit when you were home and in the water?
patch: Bless you for three trips, hope all is well, and I've your beer ready when you are...
We should all take the time to thank everyone who is currently serving and has served in the military. We owe our freedoms and security to you,.
Ifantry, hey brother I wish you the best with the Q course. The SF guys are pretty hardcore. I did some training for those guys in Okinawa. If you have any questions or want some tips shoot me a line any time. One of the biggest changes to SF is that they now take guys under E-6. It never used to be that way. Take care and God bless,

thanks for your advice....this is a lot harder then i expected i pretty much always knew i wanted to join but always had that gut feeling that it would be a big mistake. i finaly decided to join a few years ago and started looking deeper into it i was thinking national guard, but now im thinking army then guard. thanks again for all your help and service god bless you all
and sf soldiers are pretty hard core i knew they were pretty tough then i met the son of one. we became friends and he told me how his dad was in this thing i forgot the name but its like ufc for the military. he always said how good he was but i figured he was exagurating. we were in the library on the computers between midterms and he showed me some of his matches....yeah he was telling the truth
Hi Matt. Just figure out what you want to do and go for it. My dad was in the Army for 24 years and it was a different force back then. I would guess it is better now than then and there are more advantages for anyone.
The UFC type thing is called MACP, Modern Army Combatives Program. It is the closest thing to UFC you will find sanctioned by the military. Also the Marines have MCMAP (McMap) Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. I saw these guys do this while I was in Africa and this is also hardcore. Good stuff for young guys. At my age, I just prefer to run a few miles. I ache enough as it is :)
lets keep them in our prayers and lets just root them on for freedome and america
everyone who has a loved one there in my prayers
I totally agree. I believe they know the majority of us support them whole heartedly, but it's always nice to hear.
thanks sere i appreciate it
support the troops anyway you can and feild and stream is a good way to do so. God Bless!!
My Wife and I own a medical billing service and I can tell you first hand how the VETS get the shaft all the time!!
PS
It's a living hell for our VETS!! The VA and Capital Hill doesn’t give a damn and in a few weeks they will hear about it!!!!!
3rd Generation AF and I am still serving. My father still works at Wright Patterson AFB and my sister is stationed in Charleston AFB. Thank you all Vets for your selfless sacrifice and your willingness to serve. Every Redblooded American is praying for you.
To all our troops (active, inactive and retired), I back you 100% and thank you for everything you have done regardless. My father was a Marine and I am very proud to say that. I've got my flag flyin high. God Bless and come home safe.
I will tell you guys even though I regularly give them both a bunch of S@#$ It truely brought a smile to my face to be able read Phil and Dave while I was deployed. Those guys can really paint you a picture. It was truely a high point of my day to be able to read a review. Since I got back I have really gotten into the F&S website and if you've notice I try to answer every question that I know anything about. Its really my way of reconnecting with you guys because you are the baseline that I strive for not these liberals that are around us and the TV reporters can ALL KISS MY @$$! I love being among friends and hunters and I truely feel that if falls squarely on OUR shoulders to keep up our way of life. If we allow hunting and shooting to die out in our lifetime the we have only the men and women in the mirror to thank for that. I appreciate everyone fighting on that front also.
