If you are looking for healthy one has to strike a balance between organic and buying local. I would lean towards buying local where you have a good chance of knowing and conversing with the producer. Basically, I agree with steve182.

I like to sprinkle a little DDT on my veggies to kill the bugs. This "organic" is nonsense. Insecticides produce healthy, critter free food. All you are doing by supporting this organic stuff is driving up the price of food, and getting a "feely good" out of eating the stuff. You go ahead and eat your apples with worms in them. Mine will be worm free thank you. And I've talked to experts on this very subject, and they just smile, at the contention that organic is the way to go.
