Hunting

The Anti-Hunters greatest ally!

Uploaded on July 20, 2009

I have come across a lot of people most of them pretty good Sportsmen must I say. Then there are those, if you use more than 90 grains of powder in a handmade relic muzzle loader or crossbow you’re going straight to hell!

Yep, those are the kind who will deliberately shoot a hole in the bottom of the boat just because they can sinking everyone with it!! In other words, they have become the Anti-Hunters greatest ally!

Are you saying "we have met the enemy and he is us?." We should hold ourselves and our fellow hunters to the highest standard.

I don't understand why sportsmen, gun owners, and fishermen vote in the closet and think it won't hurt our children. It should be plain to understand that a little compromise always goes to the idle side. Don't stand by Idle! Victoms say it won't happen to me. But, It very well could.

We must suffice them, so they will shut up? Till all is lost and nothing will be gained back! Makes no sense to me at all.

Bad way to end a fight for anything that's right.

Don't give up the high ground. Because, the enemy will not give it back!

Remember Australia 1997

Remember the battle at Gettysburg.

Mr. Cooper, I am greatly confused. Instead of replying with a clever (?) or several (??????). I am going to articulate my concern that you have not really generated a complete thought with this thread. Perhaps you could proof read what your original statements were, see if they make sense, to you even, and then elaborate so that the rest of us can catch up to your [thought] process... I am only concerned for the sake of morbid curiosity...and to know that you are not in need of a visit to the dudes in white coats with the ink blots... Regards amigo, hope you are feeling better soon! ~ JB

Your problem is if you don’t understand the answer so how do you understand the question?

AndyH, I understood his remark and a +1!

What do you think of serializing ammunition when they cannot track serialized weapons used illegally in Mexico? You give up one part and you lose it all!

No Sir, I do understand the answer, I just posed another question...I had hoped for a more robust conversation, which would require articulating a fuller background for the answer you have given- it is like what politicians do, they use part of the answer, or pose a partial question, thus limiting the scope of possible responses. To be more direct, man, why did you give the answer?
And just for the record, I am not insinuating that you are anything like a politician- I would not give that label to friend or enemy alike!
So please, articulate the question so we can better discuss the answer.

Have you ever come across somebody who is so dead set in the way think and say they would rather destroy the chances and privileges of everyone doing something?

There are those you can call them “Dead Set Traditionalists” or just plain “BASSACKWARDS” people who have no true knowledge of how something works and the cause and effects of. How many times just on F&S have you read someone is going to hell or I’m coming over to beat the snit out of you for using a Cross Bow or shooting past 50 yards with a 25-06 or any other cartridge. Or better yet take the speed limit for truckers Ohio in open country set at 55mph (ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ!!) while other vehicles having a 70mph speed limit! Have you ever drove an 18 wheeler thru Ohio, I have a many times and it’s safer at 65mph than at 55mph!

Cross Bows, I have nothing against it, I think they are bulky, harder to carry thru the brush etc and don’t have the range and knock down power as my HCA 4 Runner at 60 yards. I believe they should be legal in all Archery Seasons, they been around long before the Compound Bow, I personally don't have the use for one at this time maybe later!

AR15’s, what’s the big deal here hunting deer with one! Nobody makes complaints on a kid using a single shot 223 and what’s the deference of function of a AR15 and a Remington Model 750™ Woodsmaster™ or any other gas or none gas operated firearm!

Shooting distance with a rifle, how far is to far 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 700 yards? If you have the ability to shoot effectively “MOP” at that distance, go for it! I've out shot a many 300 Win Mags topped with extraterrestrial scopes on the 1000 yard line with my M1A with open sights!

Bottom Line

You’ll find and come across those with specialties with the ability to do and/or the knowledge of something you don’t know or have the capability of doing.
Don’t become The Anti-Hunters greatest ally giving them misinformation to use against us or to turn any prospective Sportsmen especially Sportswomen away!
The Anti’s pickup on misinformation believing to be the truth and use this against us, so be careful of what you say and react!

some of the best and worst advice and conversation i have had were with " veteran" or " expierenced" hunters and outdoorsman. yes newbies can be annoying but at this point we need all the numbers we can get. As long as they work to improve their skills there will be no issue here.

lets all respect eachothers opinions and not bash eachother becasuse we dissagree with something. that would leave us vunarable. We all love hunting and fishing. peolpe have their own methods and thought processes. who cares if its not the same as yours. We all want to continue enjoying our traditions and rights to hunt and fish. sticking together is the best way to go.

We need to stick together as long as we do not do so to our own demise. When an idiot shows their colors, we need to point it out- how else will they learn? I do not want to drive away people from outdoor pursuits; I do not want to ostracize anyone. But on the other hand, is it more to tell someone that they have their fly undone, to their own embarrassment, or is it better to just let them walk around with their junk hanging out for everyone to see?
Likewise, when somebody that represents the whole of a group you belong to does some jack*ss thing, it should be brought to their attention, in a constructive manner. If they come around, then great~ count it a victory. But when they snub you and "will deliberately shoot a hole in the bottom of the boat just because they can" then I say ream them a new one, so they do not give the rest a bad name...which was the original point made by Mr. Cooper.
