Carroll National Guard To Conduct Door To Door Gun Confiscation Drills in Arcadia, Iowa
Friday February 20th 2009, 9:01 pm
Filed under: 10th Amendment, 2nd Amendment, Corruption, Gun Confiscation, Martial Law, Military Dictatorship, Military vs Citizens, Police State, Tyranny, US Constitution, Uncategorized
The Daily Times Herald is reporting that the Carroll National Guard is planning a 4 day exercise April 2nd through April 5th 2009.

From the article:

The purpose of the April 2-5 drill will be to gather intelligence, then search for and apprehend a suspected weapons dealer, according to Sgt. Mike Kots, readiness NCO for Alpha Company.

Citizens, law enforcement, media and other supporters will participate.

Troops will spend Thursday, April 2, staging at a forward operations base at Carroll. The next day company leaders will conduct reconnaissance and begin patrolling the streets of Arcadia to identify possible locations of the weapons dealer.

The primary phase will be done Saturday, April 4, when convoys will be deployed from Carroll to Arcadia. Pictures of the arms dealer will be shown in Arcadia, and soldiers will go door to door asking if residents have seen the suspect.

Soldiers will knock only at households that have agreed to participate in the drill, Kots noted.

I’m really curious to know how they’re going about getting permission. Are they asking everyone if they want to or telling them they’re coming and accepting objections? What kind of pressure are they coming?

“Once credible intelligence has been gathered,” said Kots, “portions of the town will be road-blocked and more in-depth searches of homes and vehicles will be conducted in accordance with the residents’ wishes.

In accordance with the residents’ wishes? Because the people or Arcadia actually voted on this and then directed the mayor to invite the national guard to come hang out.

“One of the techniques we use in today’s political environment is cordon and knock,” Kots explained. “We ask for the head of the household, get permission to search, then have them open doors and cupboards. The homeowner maintains control. We peer over their shoulder, and the soldier uses the homeowner’s body language and position to protect him.”

YAY!! You get to help the military search your house for illegal (any) guns. I hate being left out of all the fun.

During this phase of the operation, troops will interact with residents and media while implementing crowd-control measures and possibly treating and evacuating injured persons.

The unit will use a Blackhawk helicopter for overhead command and control, and to simulate medevacs.

The drill will culminate in the apprehension of the suspected arms dealer.

Because that’s what the military is for, chasing down suspected arms dealers in American cities.

In addition to surveillance, searching and apprehension, the exercise will also give the troops valuable experience in stability, support, patrol, traffic control, vehicle searches and other skills needed for deployment in an urban environment.

“This exercise will improve the real-life operational skills of the unit,” said Kots. “And it will hopefully improve the public’s understanding of military operations.”

Wow, you’d think the military is getting ready to spend a lot of time in American cities in the future, I wonder why?

The pre-drill work with residents is as important at the drill itself.

“It will be important for us to gain the trust and confidence of the residents of Arcadia,” said Kots. “We will need to identify individuals that are willing to assist us in training by allowing us to search their homes and vehicles and to participate in role-playing.”

Yes, going in pre-invasion and doing intel/recon is a great military tactic.

“We really want to get as much information out there as possible, because this operation could be pretty intrusive to the people of Arcadia.”

Intrusive? No, not at all.

This goes out to the IOWA boys you took the same oath and stated in that oath is the

OATH TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION NOT INFRINGE UPON IT!

Moral Obligation:
To not do anything that is ILLEGAL, IMMORAL or UNETHICAL
This meets the criteria since it states the MILITARY will not conduct house to house search and seizures, and forced quartering (occupation of houses. (BILL OF RIGHTS)

If they do this they are no better than the Brits and their sympathizers during the Revolution and the Yankees during the forced occupation of the South during the reconstruction period.

What next Inprisonment without trials just because you disagree with something?

I will say that I have been one of the ones that have stayed (fairly) quiet but the more I hear the way things are going our children and grandchildren aren't going to have a chance because they won't have anyway to defend the constitution that my forefathers defended with their blood and lives. I'm not some radical that's going to wig out or nothing but I will defend my rights and would hope that we(ALL) will start standing up for them against those that want to press their will against us,(those that think that gun regulation will lower crime rate, look at the crime rate in the states that now let their citizens be armed) before we end up like other countries who have given their rights up and look where their at now. EVERYONE- BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING-
Billionaire George Soros's protégé, Rebecca Peters, runs the IANSA which coordinates the gun prohibition efforts of groups around the world, including the Brady Campaign in America.
IANSA claims at least 500 accomplices worldwide and is fund with countless millions from governments (including ours), international foundations, and billionaires like Soros.
spreading its dangerous doctrine of civil disarmament, IANSA receives the patronage of the same governments that push gun prohibition at the U.N.
In effect, IANSA is the cutting-edge public relations arm of the U.N.'s gun prohibition campaign. Rebecca Peters was very forthright in saying that the gun prohibition movement was aimed squarely at Americans: "Americans are people like everyone else."

A side note- Soros is a Hungarian billionaire that has many ties to interests in the U.S. He is the one that encourged Obama to run for president.
Also, the UN hoped that Clinton would be elected, he was (twice), the UN hoped Gore, then Kerry would be elected, they weren't. Then they hoped Obama would be elected, he was, they got their man in.

Clay Cooper, what are you trying to do by digging up this year old non-event. The responses have two characteristics; the first plays to the irrational fear that the government will be knocking on our doors to steal our guns, forgetting that the NRA is one of, if not the most, powerful lobbbies in Washington and in every state. The other characteristic is to attack the National Guard, and undermine the need for training. As the local paper reported "Company A, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry had planned a four-day exercise the first weekend of April (2009) to practice cordon-and-search operations in an urban environment. The drill - which would use only homes that agreed to participate - would've involved searching for and apprehending a suspected weapons dealer, valuable practice should the air-assault infantry company again be deployed to the Mideast."

The paranoid reactionary response to the first article, which Clay provided in an edited and amended form, was due to Alex Jones mischaracterizing the training event on his radio show, then writing about it on his web site. The local paper, Daily Times Herald, reported on 2/23/09: "Infowars.com posted The Times Herald's article without permission, and although full credit was given, the Web site misled its visitors by changing the headline to say "Iowa National Guard to train for gun confiscation." Guard officials had no intention and made no mention of searching Arcadia homes for weapons, and the newspaper's headline read "Guardsmen to conduct urban training at Arcadia."

The Web site didn't correct its headline until requested by The Times Herald via e-mail Friday afternoon."

The viral nature of this article resulted in Mr. Cooper reprinting it as it first appeared on Alex Jones web site, prior to being corrected.

If something sounds too wacked to be true, do a little research before accepting the wacked out mis-truths. Go to the original sources and read what the locals thought about this nonevent: http://www.carrollspaper.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=7489&SectionID=... and

Look at abortion activists. They do not vote for the opposing side.
WHY SHOULD GUN OWNERS VOTE FOR ANTIGUN POLITICANS just because they think our gun rights are secure? They are taking their rights for grants period. We shouldn't be complacent about our rights. THEY CAN BE TAKEN AWAY.

WHY SHOULD GUN OWNERS VOTE FOR ANTIGUN POLITICANS just because they think our gun rights are secure? They are taking their rights for grants period. We shouldn't be complacent about our rights. THEY CAN BE TAKEN AWAY.
Our gun rights are far from being secure. A quote from Thomas Jefferson-
" A government big enough to give you everything you need, is big enough to take everything away."

My Bad- Acoupleof typos so here is a revised version.

It doesn't matter if you vote for Dakotah Dans' opinion or the other side. I understand his side. Alex Jones is an extremist, but Alex Jones isn't the enemy.
The government is the problem. You HAVE TO RESEARCH THE ANTI GUN MOVEMENT!!!!!! Please don't think they won't pass more laws to restrict your gun rights. Your gun rights aren't about hunting, it is about tyranny of government. Our founding fathers put the second amendment in place to keep the government from dictatorship. But now we have this movement of world government, world economy,....... Do look into it with your computer.

It's time to elect a new govenor in Arcadia Iowa. National Guard Troops can only be called up by the Govenor in cases of extreme emergencies, ie national disaster or Marchal Law. Otherwise using soldiers to police civilians is forbidden by the constitution.
