Backlash and Blowback
I just noticed how much of a positive response there was to the issue a few months back about all the ways to save a buck and have a blast. The issue touched on a lot of things that we all grew up on, and it could have done sooo much more. Im not saying that i want every issue to be simply about bluegill fishing and squirrel hunting, but by durn those stories are timeless, incredibale tales that help us all relive the days that have came and gone. Each region surely has their own stories that fit into this category whether it be a youngsters first rabbit hunt, the christmas family hunt for whatever roams the fields, bluegill fishin' with grandpa, or whatever there may be, these stories are always loved, well responded to, and best of all they draw us into the pages and we get away from the real world for those precious few minutes. The cheap thrills issue brought a lot of those memories back for me, because like i said its something we all did. Its also something that for the most part we can all go do again...which brings up the hopes and dreams just like the extravagant hunting trips we read about. I would gladly trade in a "ill never do it" each month for a "man that was fun, lets do that next weekend"
I concur. A cheap thrills section could just be a page or even a half-page and would be a good way to spread around ideas commonly shared around campfire. At least it would be something to help keep kids off the video games for a while.
I like it ! Anyway we can get this idea to the "mag people" !
Oh +1 for you too ableskeever !
