Grammar

Uploaded on April 08, 2009

Give me a freakin break people. Let the grammar and spelling comments go and give a person that needs an answer to the question. We are all here for the same reason and I am pretty sure its not to be told that I need to go back to school. Answer the damn question or keep your mouth shut!

Amen to that, I would not think of making fun of peoples grammer. Most of the time I can make it through the question but if I can not I just do not respond. Why would I make fun of someone who does not have good grammar. We all have our own errors.

I completely agree, folks on here get on to people all the time about questions that should not be asked on a hunting a fishing website. What about answers that should not be put on a hunting and fishing website. There was one questions in particular that stands out and it was like they were crucifying the poor kid. I was like holy cow, do you want the kid to ever ask a question on this website again. Half of us couldn't wright a college term paper with out spell check anyway. So it's not like most people have room to talk in the first place.

The only problem with that comment is that some people have such poor grammar that it is very difficult to understand what they are trying to say.
But for the most part i agree.

I have always felt that if you want to talk seriously, you should put some small, tiny bit of effort into showing it. I take people more seriously if they're not posting on places like this with the same skills they use text-messaging. I'm not a freak about it, but the occasional capital "I" at least.

I agree to. I hate it when people rag on people for bad spelling. It is not a big deal. We still know what it is they are saying.

The posts do need to be readable. It detracts from a reply when one must stop and try to decipher what a mispelled word is. On the other side we will all occasionally have typos, especially when we type in a hurry and have big fingers.

Most people have grammar errors from time to time. What bothers me most are people who ask questions without trying their own research.

As long as it's halfway understandable, who cares about grammar or spelling, it's the internet for gosh sake.

(and a hint for my fellow mis-spellers, change from internet explorer to google chrome, it includes an auto spell check for every word you type anywhere)

But. ....... If the objective of posting is to get replies.... Do as well as you are able. Capitalize, use commas, and periods. No one should criticize you if you don't, but the easier it is to read, the more response you will get.

I have to disagree with most of you posting here. As a nation we are slipping far behind the rest of the world in reading, writing, math and general comprehensive skills. Will you live just as long and have just as many children? Probably. Will your children have the skills they need to survive in an increasing difficult work environment? Probably not.

libertyfirst..With unionized public education that is more concerned with their own advancements then student advancements, lots of students slip through the cracks. Now couple that with 70 % of college professors vote liberal Democrat, and you get a situation where folks like Obama get an Ivy League education, a supposedly good education, and come out implementing a plan to grow the fed. govt by 25% in two years, as a solution to our economic troubles rather than less big govt., and growing the economy. But it is a surprise we have 9.6% unemployment as a result when Obama said unemployment would go to 8% if we didn't follow his plan?

Now folks who are lacking in thier spelling or grammer can blame that on liberals too.

Yep, it is all about discrediting the messenger for liberals. They can't win debating the facts so they attack the messenger. Sarah Palin is a prime example...attacked relentlessly, and many frivilous lawsuits attempting to bankrupt her, and drive her out of the political arena..and what happened?..what always happens to liberals,.... lousy decisions, lousy policy, and now Palin is quite wealthy, and incredibly popular because of liberals.

Oh Boy,
we've had a few "debates" Sayfu, as I recall it's I with facts, documentation, and clear memory. You on the other hand are quite famous for shootin from the hip as you like to say.
Palin? The half term Govenor? Frivilous lawsuits? Don't you recall talking about this before? She was a govenor, had legal representation at her beck and call, paid for by "the party". what did she do? instead of defending her "good name" and finish her term, she quit and ran. Has she parlayed her infamy into wealth? You betcha. Has she enhanced her credibility? Hardly.
You are correct when you say she's incredibly popular, so is Nascar, American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, and Survivor, but like Nascar, most folks watch for the chance to see a spectacular wreck.
She loves her popularity too much to risk running for any elected office, after all, when she loses, she loses her popularity. Much safer for her to remain on the sidelines and be a "professional critic". Vanity.

Sayfu if Palin won the nomination Axelrod would be doing cartwheels down Pennsylvania Avenue.

Liberty I answered as I did because many people who comment on the front page aren't used to communicating via the written word, and it shows. I value what every one has to say and want to hear what it is they want to say. I'd hate to think that someone had held off posting due to being shy about education, grammar, or spelling. All views have value to me.

Rat,
Really? Palin is not very popular aye? You've seen how her book tour is going?..her tv show on her Alaska? Everywhere she goes she draws record crowds. 70 % of those that wiped out the democrats in this recent congressional elections watch Fox News as their news source. And they won 682 elections defeating democrats across the country. Palin is a household name now, and a symbol of the needed direction the country needs to go. But I don't care if she doesn't run. There are many outstanding conservative candidates that could get nominated. You did listen to your VP? intellectual Joe? He even said that Palin could probably beat Obama. Great statement coming from intellectual Joe.
