Legal rights for trees?

Uploaded on August 15, 2009

Does the idea of trees, rivers, lakes, forests and oceans having legal rights make any sense to you? Apparently it does to John Holdren. Mr. Holdren is the head of the White House Office of Science and Technical policy and he co-authored a book saying "I'm seriously considering proposing legal rights for trees, rivers, lakes, forests, oceans and other natural objects". Could there possibly be more nut jobs in a single administration?

This just kinda goes along with the global warming scheme in my opinion. If you give trees, rivers, lakes, and oceans rights then you can tax anyone that owns property containing them and control what you do too them. Such as using trees for fire wood or housing, fishing, hunting, boating, mining, and many other things the mix minded people think up. How do these people get in office? I dare to say ACCORN, just a thought but something about acing people to vote more than once kinda comes to mind. But who knows its possible the opposite side of crazy has not come up with a good candidate that is not afraid to stand against political correctness and the Obama matrix media.

My question is: How are they going to quantify or qualify the representation of these inanimate objects? There is not going to be any more objectivity added to the circumstance than already exists...each person thinks differently about the purpose and stewardship of natural resources. The “woody biomass right’s lobbyists” are going to have to be rat sh*t crazy to sign on in the first place. I am going to guess that this will not gain much momentum… maybe not here, but France, who knows?
Just what WILL they “think” of next? Maybe you will be able to sue trees for giving you splinters? Class action suits for drowning victim's families against the river? Would SOMEBODY extract this guy's cranium from the deep, dark, haunts of his rectum?
