To be totally honest.. I did not want obama in office. I did agree with some of his ideas but not enough.. I thought "mayb this wont be so bad.. Boy was I wrong.. He is ruining the economy. Ruining the beautiful U.S.A... Boys... buy ur guns now. We might not be able to soon.

But he has great media control. It's the only way he got into office anyway.

A series of small, controversial events to take peoples' minds off the real issues. And it's working. This guy is on the TV or radio practically every day. He knows there is only so long left to shove every democratic idea ever had down our gullets before the people catch on.

The Gates thing is just part of that bigger smoke screen.

more about the cambridge cops. I live in cambridge. It was stupid what they did. Yes, stupid. Just like that Boston cop that got popped for some pretty racist comments regarding Gates.

Cops have a responsibility to be non-biased, for many reasons, but major ones being becoming a liability to the department, and because bias can introduce race based enforcement motivation. What is that? Well, let me just say, I'm half latino... and I've been stopped more times than I can imagine, and the first question usually is: You on parole?

Basically, when something like this gets blown out of proportion, it's because we're out doing something underhanded. Hell, we probably bombed school kids with more of our terminator drones, and this is screening it from national coverage.

They simply shouldn't have fielded a pair of morons if they wanted a legit shot at keeping the white house. Especially after that cleaned up babboon we had for 8 years.

ranger2 - he has a real easy way of reducing any of the debt this bailout he had to sell to us will leave... pull out of that sandbox, and let those people deal with themselves. Cut out the DoD fat, and the 700+ Billion will be saved in a single year alone. To be fair, the bailout spending was out of control thanks to Bush's minions located in the Treasury department, ex-ceos of huge companies that they rushed to give handouts to as soon as they were available. Should that money have gone to banks and rich investors? Hell no. It should have gone to roads, bridges, schools... build infrastructure, and the money spent will enter the economy quicker, more effectively, and will be adequately distributed to you, me, our neighbors - not these douchebag wall street types. (Oh noes, distribution of "wealth".)

I'm not so sure we have many freedoms left. We get a hand up our asses (for safety!) when we go to take a plane. We have to provide character references to start a bank account due to the patriot act? We aren't as free as some would like to believe.

Thank that chimp Bush for those lost freedoms, the deaths of Americans in an oil war, and the weakest economy since WW2. Why haven't we charged him with crimes against his own people yet?

libertyfirst - read the budget. If you don't get it after then, well... it's not something for you to get.

As for the blown up buildings... not to diminish the impact of a sad event, but... how many times have we done it? We're damn lucky it hasn't happened sooner, or more often.

So you say GW stood up on his hind legs... that's great, he's as capable as a common chimpanzee. I also saw GW allow an enemy military leader (that Reagan TRAINED) to handily defeat us with minimal effort and expenditure. Bin Laden turned us simply into a charging bull, all brawn, no brains.

Bin Laden's goal was to choke our economy... what happened? Don't know about you, but when I got laid off, the whole "Worst economy since WW2" thing kinda hit home.

Quit drinking the kool-aid, seriously. What this country needs is thinking people that are capapble of understanding the dependencies and connections in difficult situations, and then act intelligently. That's the only way we can fix the mess that's been brewing for decades.
