Nobel Peace Prize!!!!!!
Uploaded on October 09, 2009Wait, it's not a hoax? Are they serious? Early Friday morning, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that Barack Obama would receive a consolation prize for losing out on the 2016 Olympics -- namely the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.
For what? There's been no signing of peace treaties, no ending of wars, no stopping of nuclear proliferation. Obama hasn't stood up for human rights in China, hasn't denounced the oppression of women in the Muslim world, hasn't stared down brutal dictators such as Castro, Chavez, Kim and Ahmadinejad. Again, I ask: For what?
Unfortunately, the committee did not pass out barf bags prior to the announcement.
The president joins other you've-got-to-be-kidding winners Jimmy Carter, who is largely responsible for present-day Iran, Gore, who does nothing but scare people about global warming, and Palestinian terrorist Yasser Arafat, who assumed room temperature in 2004. Obama's win is one more sign that the award has long since lost any legitimacy.
He must have won for "For extraordinary diplomacy at the Gates-Crowley 'Beer Summit'".

Obama won the thing because he created a new lager style beer that sounds good, looks good, and smells good, but when you get a taste of it, you realize it's not that great.

As a Ga resident I am truly sorry for our fine state sending Jimmy Carter to DC and the nation. Now that BHO is in office and has already won the Nobel happy meal prize, I realize that Carter was not nearly the worst prez we have ever had. MMM MMM MMM indeed!
Don't be so down on Jimmy. The Camp David peace talks were a hell of an achievement. Going back to a national debt of $.00 would be nice to. That darn sandstorm.

How does the peace prize go to the president of a country calling for more troops in afghanistan and a war still going on in Iraq that so much of the population would rather throw in there back seat of there car and forget. People let's not forget to support our troops.

Looking at the whole thing, no he didnt desreve it, yes i dislike him, but seriously who in this age of idiocy deserves it?? Castro for stepping down due to health reasons? I think that they gave it to him for his "actions" on trying to help the american public during the global depression...still BS...they should have given it to Jeff Fischer for giving all the nfl teams a feel good come from behind win.
You all know it was started by the guy ( Alfred Nobel) who read his own obit( brother died and no body knew Alfred had a brother). He didn't want to be known as the inventor of T.N.T which gave people "greater power to destroy each other". So he started the "peace" prize throw people off his "true" calling.

I know EXACTLY why.
1. Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, and now Barak Obama have all gotten Nobel Peace Prizes primarily because they aren't George Bush
2. Al Gore recently got $500 million to start up a "green" car company in... NORWAY. Looks like a $1million prize was pennies in what their country will get in return.
This whole thing makes me want to renounce my Norweigan roots. 100% American now... FOR SURE!
This is like getting the Cy Young Award for throwing out the first pitch.
