While i love my country for numerous reasons ( health care anyone? ) there are some things i just do not agree with it. I believe that MOST of our gun laws are very useful, i believe they make our country a safer place.
I think it is wonderful that everyone has to pass a test, and obtain a certificate/card/license to purchase/possess all guns.
hell, i don't even mind registering them with the government, and them having records of my ammunition purchases too.
what i could do with out is the rediculous restricted firearms rules ( handguns and "assault")
after i have taken my restricted course, and filled out the paperwork, and they have done several criminal and other history/records checks on me, i then have to obtain an Authorization to Transport through a gun club that i am a member of, usually you have to be a member for 1 to 2 years first, and only then can i make purchase of said handgun.
Come on.. the man who buys a nice shiny XD isn't going to hock it for 50 to your nearest hoodlum, nor is he likely to commit a crime ( except in self defense) with it.
I love you Canada, and i appreciate you want to keep me safe.
But its like beating a dead horse.
