Obama's address to the nation

Uploaded on February 24, 2009

I have to vent here guys so if your not in the mood for a long rant just click off this page. I'm sitting here watching Obama speaking which is, in my opinion, one of the most important addresses to the nation in recent history. I am pissed that they are laughing, in an almost jovial mood, cracking jokes and smiling. Do they realize that our country is in a crisis. Millions of people have been laid off, lost there homes, lost their benefits. The secondary impact of which is the rise of crime, divorce, loss of standard of living. There are families living on the street and these SOB's are making jokes. Our F'ing congress still has failed to unify around dire circumstances. Only 1/2 the room applauds at a time. What do they care about more? The people or their pride. G'D' what's wrong with these people.

Who the heck is that women in the background with the smug look on her face. What the heck is she so happy about. (I know who she is). It's only proof that the words are meaningless without meaning.

I better get off here before I start cussing.

I want to add one more thing. No man should qualify as president of this country unless he has first served his country in the armed services.

Yeah I tried to watch it but couldn't handle it when he said that he was cutting funds to agribusinesses that don't need the funding. I work in agriculture and last time I checked things aren't really booming. Buckhunter I haven't served in the military but you're right. I also think the president should spend time learning what is really going on. It really irritates me that people who have never set foot on a farm or in a farming state are making decisions like these.

I can't beleive how sick that was. He starts by saying we are in unprecedented economic turmoil that effects nearly every family in the country then a few minutes later it turns into a college frat party. Was he sincere? What if FDR said "all we have to fear is fear itself" then quipped "and fear Joe Biden" shortly after. Unthinkable.

They gave him a standing ovation every time he made a point. Just let him talk.
Every time he said what we had to do, he never said how that was going to work other than to spend money that we don't have.
Nancy Pelosi was also getting really annoying in the background with that same fake smile and standing-o's.
Good speech, but he never really told us anything.

Isn't that the same thing he did on the campaign? Change. He said that phrase, but never said how it was going to be achieved. You can not save money, by printing more, or by giving money away that you don't have. This country is hurting and the only way to stop it is turn back to our roots. This has happened in the course of our history since the birth of our nation. Look at examples of Pearl Harbor and the most recent Sept 11th. Our country was all about patriotism AFTER those things happened. Seems to me we need to be promoting ourself. Which means stop letting people in our boarders, stop outsourcing, and stop cow towing to the UN. We ARE THE UN. We are giving away are country at the boarder and economically with the outsourcing. The trade is one sided we ship out items to the world and we recieve more than twice that amount back. BUY MADE IN THE USA. Wait you can't hardly find it anymore, because the self-made buisness man is penalized in taxes to death. We are seeing a vicious spiral down. It will not look any better for years and these proposals are the New Deal II. Look up the spending plan. I mean $ 200,000 to Hawaii for canoe trips and $ 120,000 for Wyoming for the Buffalo Bill Center. Give me a break. Why are we giving money to these CROOKS? Stand up AMERICA. Our forefathers are rolling in their graves.

If i could sum up all of our anger into one hand gesture and present it to Mr. Obama, it would be a dream come true.

I have a theory: I think that Washington is trying to make everything in the US seem so bad now, on the tails of Bush, that when anything inproves in the future they can take full credit for it. If things don't inprove they can place the blame on the previous administration. That is why we constantly hear quotes from Obama that say it is only going to get worse. He promised change without a plan. But thats just my opinion.

Im sorry, I have to completely disagree!
First off, with the comment that started this post....you have a point with the jokes and the laughing, Im not sure what the hell they have on their minds. But in respect to our new President, give the man a chance. Just because he never served for his country doesnt mean he isnt "man" enough to take control of his country. There really hasnt been that many Presidents we have had that has served.
But beyond that, the man has a great outlook and a great promise. Yes its a big order and alot of people have said it before, but maybe this IS different? Maybe we need to just let the man do what he said he would.
He put his faith in us to elect him President and now its time for us to give our faith the chance to work.
Obama is for sure not the worst President we have had and probably wont be the last, but lets hope that he will be one of the FEW good ones.

I don't think he is a bad guy I just wish he'd stop blameing Bush and get to leading. You can't run the country if your looking over your shoulder and blameing the other guy.

Couldn't agree more, now America is going to have to live with the consequences of the uniformed and uneducated voters in this for four years. I would personally love to see a law passed where you have to take a little test that proves you know how our government works and a little history of our country to qualify to vote.
