Anyone else having problem with coupon.Paid 350 for gun 100 in extra mags 150 in ammo from another company.Remington says they will give 200 coupon for a new Remington product when gun comes back. Company says dont shoot gun. Gun is like new less than 100 rds through gun and still under warranty.Stand to lose 150 on gun 100 in mags and I'll have 150 in ammo for a gun I dont have, not counting scope mounting or moving scope to another gun.Gunsmith says gun is blowing extracter out side of gun. I was not hurt by gun but the company is killing me.
I basically had the same problem as you. I found out that there was a recall after the bottom blew off my clip and hit me above the eye. I was not injured, but could have been very easily. I sent my 17 back to remington with a letter expressing my anger. They are sending me a model 700 in 243. I am now quite happy. Remington took care of me.
I have been in contact with Remington about the 597 recall. Like many others, have much more invested in the gun than they are willing to pay! Any suggestions on how to get a reasonable dollar value for a great shooting gun! As of now, I am getting very little support from Remington. RColeman, how were you so fortunate to get compensation? I am at the point that I am threatening to send letters to Field & Stream, NRA, and other magaizes to inform others of Remingtons' shotty(no pun intended) customer service. I feel as if i am getting taken for a ride!
Any advice?
