I know enough about this story to know the 4 Seals are innocent.

"O'they hurt me" is in their play book!

The SOB should be glad he is still alive, even after being handed over to the locals for a brief time.

The phrase of "Take no prisoners!" is comes to mind! And I can start seeing it happening soon!

That is "BS" They get arrested for protecting me and my family? I can't take it anymore, Obama is protecting terrorists over the country he swore to protect! He and his whole party are socialists taking all of the power away from the people and giving it to our enemies.

BS. They broke regs and were offered non-judicial punishment. THEY chose to take it to court-martial. They need a jail cell to teach them about good order and discipline.

Former NCO with no sympathy for a bunch of whiners.

Sorry, I don't have any idea what's going on here. Someone give me a link. I was an MP in the Army for three years. I wrote up a lot of reports with "subject slipped and fell on wet pavement coming into the station". And I never had to worry about anybody I worked with or for checking the weather reports for rain either. But no one ever fell down unless they were resisting. In three years, I don't recall ever dukeing it out with anybody. If somone took a swing at me, they got the stick. And it usually didn't take more than one whack and they were ready to put on the cuffs. If the puke had a weapon - any weapon - I unholstered the .45 and locked and loaded. That was usually enough. However, as a rookie (first week on the job) I did discharge it into the ceiling of a bar in the midst of a riot. You could have heard a pin drop immediately - if anybody could have heard anything! Some kind of bang, I'll tell ya! Some of the other MPs would beat on gay guys, minorities, drunks, etc. (and once an epileptic civilian having a seizure!) but I wouldn't cover their butt, and they knew it if they were riding with me. There is a line. Perhaps these SEALs crossed it. I don't know. That bunch of jackass MPs over in Iraq a few years ago who horsed around with their prisoners went WAY over the line. That was shameful. They should have been given jail sentences themselves. Those morons couldn't have been regular Army!

With the ease that people can be accused of misconduct with terrorists, and the circus that justice has become trying them, I wonder sometimes why they bother to risk their own lives capturing some of these at all.

The guys a terrorist, and people are coming down on the troops because he got a fat lip? Powers that be know what trouble I would have gotten into alone with him.

Thanks for the link. Some say it was a punch in the gut and some say it was a fat lip. Sounds like this is a weak case. I suspect it is all a deliberately orchestrated media circus event intended to produce just the kind of reaction I'm seeing above. Anyway, the way I look at it if these guys were dumb enough to punch up a prisoner in the presence of someone in the outfit who was not supportive, then perhaps they're not fit for the job. And perhaps something is wrong with that particular outfit. Given the delicate job the SEALs have to do, I think it's important to get it sorted out.

A court martial is not a terribly bad thing. Not like it sounds. It's simply having your day in military court. If they didn't do anything wrong (or if they feel certain they can get away with doing something wrong) then they should exercise that right rather than accept non-judicial punishment. Accepting an Article 15 almost certainly would cost them their good conduct medals (if they don't already have one from a previous break in service). I accepted non-judicial punishment on a charge that was a total crock. My duty officer prevailed upon me to accept so they could ship out the jerk seargent who laid charges, otherwise he would be extended till at least the trial date. And everybody wanted that guy off the force, badly! He was flipping out. If I'd known accepting would ruin my record, I'd have had my day in court too.

The down side to going to court martial is if you lose, the punishment is almost always going to be much more serious than an Article 15. A court martial conviction may also haunt you even in civilian life.

I have a feeling they will be prounounced guilty and receive a very lenient sentence. It is b.s but just looking at laws of landwarfare and the evidence against them is why I say this. If I were to be in a similar situation I would think it may be easier to allow the iraqi/Afgan. Army to "watch" the detainee for a few minutes for me. The only problem is sometimes they may fall while I am not there but I don't know I had to leave for a second. Or something along those lines.

I do hope the publci support for them helps the case, guys work to hard for such b.s from their own country

More hysterical bullshit.

According to my sources, they were given the option of having this dealt with by a captain's mast. They chose to have a court martial. That's their right. So let them have their court martial.

As for Ahmed Hashim Abed. What murder? He killed some scumbag mercenaries. So fucking what? He's a soldier, that's his job. That's what he's supposed to do.

If you choose to inject yourself into someone else's country political situation for money and you get yourself killed, it's your own damn fault. You deserve no protection. Mercenaries deserve whatever happens to them.

I agree with BioGuy... shoot to kill. Nobody is allowed to extract information from terrorists these days with an idealist as President. They have to get read their rights as if they were shoplifters. England made the mistake of imposing too many rules in their war methods... and then the Colonies beat the crap out of the best military in the world. Now we've turned into the very thing we beat in 1783...
