What's It Worth?
"I want the people of America to be able to work less for the government and more for themselves. I want them to have the rewards of their own industry. This is the chief meaning of freedom. Until we can reestablish a condition under which the earnings of the people can be kept by the people, we are bound to suffer a very severe and distinct curtailment of our liberty." --President Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933)
Agreed. The only thing that can keep America from being strong and robust is if governement ties it down with too much regulation and taxes.
I don't know a great deal about Calvin Coolidge but it does seem like he was a strong proponent of limited government and I get the impression he is being treated unfairly by the historians.
As we keep allowing our government to expand exponentially, our taxes will only increase, as will our debt. It's a simple equation really. Unfortunately too many people want government to "Take care of them." It's a sad state of affairs. Obamanation is all about Big Government and people who want and/or need "Taken Care of"
