An update from Oklahoma :
Oklahoma law passed, 37 to 9, had a few liberals in the mix, an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values...! HB 1330
Guess what.......... Oklahoma did it anyway.
Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB
1804. Hope we didn't send any of them to your state. This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.
Guess what.......... Oklahoma did it anyway.
Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal's to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional SB 1102 (since when has Polosi cared about anything being unconstitutional?)
Guess what........ Oklahoma did it anyway.
Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining Texas, Montana and Utah as the only states to do so.
More states are likely to follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolina's, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia,Mississippi, Florida. Save your confederate money, it appears the South is about to rise up once again. HJR 1003
The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I'm sure that was
a set back for the criminals. The Liberals didn't like it -- But ....
Guess what........... Oklahoma did it anyway.
Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL driver's license exams will be printed in English, and only English, and no other language. They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in Oklahoma, you must read and write English. Really simple.
By the way, the Liberals don't like any of this either.
Guess what...who cares... Oklahoma is doing it anyway. Good for OKLAHOMA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't say Stoops wasn't a good football coach, I just think the Sooners are over rated.
Football isn't the ONLY reason to attend a school.
One of THE finest institutions in America is Texas A&M University. Them Aggies might not always field a winning team, but when you show a prospective employer your A&M diploma, I can guarantee you they will ALWAYS be interested!!
There are other plenty fine schools in not only Oklahoma, but across the U.S. as well.
If you want to be a "Sooner" fan jamesti, go for it. I just have my own school I'd rather root for!! Gig 'em Aggies!!

OU never lost to Boise State in a title game. That was a Fiesta Bowl loss, but not a national championship game. And I think it was USC that was awarded the title along with LSU that other year.
OU hasn't been awarded a national championship since 2000.

Don't know "which" year, but I watched LSU beat OU on TV. Later I hear OU was awarded the Nat'l Championship.
Not only that, I'm not just REAL concerned with football.
Hunted with a fellow once who would never hunt Sat or Sun afternoons. There were too many College and Pro football games.
He worked Mon/Fri. Paid good money for a hunting lease and blew half of each weekend for freakin' football! Then whined about never killing any deer.
Get out from in front of that TV and you might kill something!

Don't get much time to watch t.v. actually. Between work, kids, fishing, and gardening I'm lucky to get any free time and it's generally not watching the tube. Granted, like a lot of guys I enjoy watching sports, but I'm not the type to watch football from Saturday morning through Sunday night nonstop. I catch part of a Royals game occasionally. Definitely watch Sooner football. I love watching the Thunder. I also exercise, play basketball, hike, and swim.
Trust me, I get outside a lot. I can't sit still very long.
And since I know your the kind of guy that likes to get his facts and numbers straight, OU was NOT awarded the championship after losing to LSU. You're thinking of them losing to Kansas St. in the Bog 12 game and then still being allowed to play in the championship. USC was trying to claim the title that year even though LSU beat OU. Only correcting this since you brought it up.

gumby, i was just looking these things up because i was confused by what i heard. you kind of have to play in the national championship to win it. i can remember many times that OU was screwed out of it but every time they get to the game someone says they didn't deserve it. gotta love stoops!
if you can believe it, i dated a girl who was a longhorn fan! the red river rivalry was most interesting! even when i lost the bet, i still won! but, there is a reason we are not still dating. wasn't meant to be.
I used to watch the Cowboys quite often. In the 90's when they were so dominant, it was pretty cool.
Since then, it's like they take on the standing SuBo champs and beat them like a red-headed step child. Next week, the cellar trolls show up in Dallas and the roles are reversed. Just got tired of the carnage!
I'd much rather spend my time in a deer stand, watching the sun either rise or fall!!! Been watchin' 'em since about 1955!

I applaud you guys, and I love, and am Praying for all of you. THIS NATION WAS STARTED OUT AS A CHRISTIAN NATION, AND SHE WILL END THAT WAY.
