Backlash and Blowback
Since we're all in the Memorial Day spirit I have this question:
Last year Don Imus brought to the nations attention the dreadful treatment our returning injured soldiers from the middle east receive at Walter Reed hospital. Since Don's terrible treatment and removal from MSNBC for a casual and truthful statement nothing has been said about the improvments to the hospital that was promised, nor the soldiers living conditions.
Does anyone else know or care?
What happened at Walter Reed hospital is nothing compared to what is going on nationwide!
NO JOKE!
Veterans are dying from being ignored by the VA and I can prove it!!!
Thank God I have insurance and don't have to go to the VA. It's a national tragedy, or is it travesty?
I'd say both.
Sorry guys. You deserve better!
I am not feeling too sorry for Imus after some of the remarks he made about those college girls that got him in the sh!t$ at MSNBC. That is a left wing pinko network anyway. I have removed it from my TV channel program and refuse to watch it for 1 second.
My dad goes to the VA. At one of thier fine facilities, when he went in for chronic back pain, the only thing they did was give him a huge bottle of 500mg Ibuprofin. No exam, no x-ray, no discussion or referrals... can you say "negligent". Our service men and women deserve the best, not that kind of crap.
PS: I should clarify that I refuse to watch MSNBC because of their liberal bias, not because of Imus' removal. He is a consumate ass.
Our Shoulders need the best care money can buy. Isn't it nice to know with Nationalized Healthcare everone will be treated with the best care money can buy "Yeh Right." makes me sick people think government run healthcare will be so much better.
Mr. Imus need his head examined most of the time.
Man there are a lot of liberal people on this site. I guess that's what you get with an internet site. +1 Mtnhunter
I only to to the VA to get a pair of glasses once a year. The rest of the time TRICARE & Medicare take pretty good care of this ol' retired codger.
My wife is in the military also so I could go to civilian hospital if I choose........I'm a combat veteran, a marine recon and an army ranger......
The gentleman who worked for me at the counter in my gunshop worked at the local veterans hospital for many years and retired from there before his job with me. He was a veteran from Vietnam and refused to be treated at the VA hospital. Some of the stories that he told me would break your heart. I don't think that any of you are wrong with your comments and that this is a national tragedy and veterans issues should be a priority for any person running for office in this country. I don't know any way to put the pressure on except with our vote.
Rudy in what engagment were you injured? I was injured during OEF in '08. What recon unit were you with in the Marines? I was with MARSOC.
Didnt mean you were injured sorry about that.
My dad did two tours in Vietanm as a crash/fire rescue airmen. They used to put out the flaming planes full of napalm and agent orange. Years later, under VA treatment he got pancreatic cancer from the crap.
The VA didn't discover the cancer. He was sick and after waiting weeks to see a VA doctor, he went to a private doc because he was so sick and he found the cancer. By then it was terminal. There were drugs he colud have taken, but they never told him that.
Got a flag, but no Dad, and he was young!
I love my country and served peacetime in the USMC, but I hate the VA. It's been bad for a long time and soldiers returning from war always seem to get a crappy deal!
All gave some, some gave all and the reward is crappy care?
To all: Imus is much more liberal than I like but if it wasn't for him those wounded soldiers would still be living in filth.
I'm disable Viet Nam vet, the only times I've gone to the VA, is for re-evaluation of my arm. NO, I've got good insurance from my employer, since I retired, I don't even know where the VA hosp. is, wouldn't go if I did!
