Is anyone else tired of all these hippies and peta morons?

Uploaded on October 07, 2009

I'm sick of hearing "your a cruel person for hunting!"or "Hunting is wrong. Just buy meat at the store!" We sportsman dont yell at them for being vegitarians or not bathing, but they cuss us out for fishing. God gave us dominion over all the animals(most of are athiest so that dont affect them much) but I wish they'd just leave us (and this website) alone!

Bamaoutdoors93,
I hear what you're saying there. Just curious - what part of 'Bama are you in. From my frequent (weekly) travels there, there seems to be a bumper crop of 'em in certain places. Maybe even more than here in GA except for maybe Athens, metro ATL or the coast. You a college person by chance???

I've said this before:

If you go to a drive-thru and order a burger, or if you go to the grocery store and buy a package of hamburger meat, you are hunting by proxy. In other words you are paying for someone else to have done the work of hunting for you. This makes you a gatherer.

If you went out and shot a deer, skinned and dressed it out, and used the meat and any other parts you might find use for, that makes you a hunter. At least you honestly made use of that animal you took by your own hands.

If you then took that meat and fed your family or friends, or you chose to donate it to a food charity (like you can here in GA) that would also make you a provider.

I fail to see any problem there, even with the gatherer part if you are accepting honestly how you are really obtaining that food. A lot of anti's think food just falls out of the sky.

i was at local bar (northern wisconsin) recently and a man showed a woman a picture of a bear that was killed in the area. to which she said " ew get that away." my friend laughed and said dont like bears? she answered " no i just don't like seeing things that are killed so inhumanly... once again my friend acting in good fun said it was humane only one shot the bear went 10 yards after he was shot. She seemed outraged and i decided to ask her if she ate pork or beef to which she said yes. ironic and very hypocritical.

Ask them what they think about wind energy. Then you can tell them how many birds are killed from hitting them.

Ask them if they like the fact that they raised the price of corn so that they can use ethanol in their vehicles. (It really take more fossil fuels to produce ethanol than it would save from gasoline)

Ask them what they would do if they had a squirrel problem in their house.

Would they slap a mosquito digging into them?

Ask them how they feel about there being so many snow geese that they are literally dropping out of the sky because there isn't enough food for them. Is a quick shot more cruel than starving to death?

Ready for the Tide/Tigers game this weekend?

Kill within reason, don't go out and kill 30 squirrels when you can only eat 3 in a month.

Make ethical kills, don't kill a deer with a bow past what you can shoot comfortably. Your taking an animals life. Respect it, and do it cleanly and fast.
