Blood Tracking Lights

Uploaded on March 04, 2009

You see those game getter/blood tracking lights in the Cabelas & Bass Pro Shops catalogs. I personally have never even picked one up, but am kind of curious to see if one would actually work. Has anybody seen one work or own one, or are they a big crock of #$%&*? Ya I know... him good and you won't need one!

I got my dad a Gerber Carnivore a few years back. The blood tracking light does make blood glow red/orange, but only in low light. It won't help you in broad daylight, but it could be very handy at twilight or later.

My daughter gave the the one from Primos for Christmas 07. It saved us from losing a deer last fall. So I would say yeas it works. Comes with a instructional DVD.

I own the Energizer LED military tactical light. My neighbor borrowed it last season to track down a buck. He said it worked great. Hope this helps.

I'm curios how they work. But it is one more thing you have to carry in your pack. Like me I probably won't have one since I like to hunt in the day, and not shoot at dusk.

Gerber Carnivore just works okay. Nice feature is that you can switch between the bright beam and tracking light. I really don't think the tracking light helped much, if at all, over the white light.

Its hard to say the amount of blood needed to make blood glow is soooo much that you could just us a regular light to see them.
