Campfire

Can't wait for summer and some camping!

Uploaded on January 21, 2009

I don't know about you guys but I can't wait for Spring and Summer to roll around to get to some real campfires. There is nothing better than sitting around the campfire down by the creek and falling asleep to the sound of running water at night. The other thing is my beautiful wife always makes smores for my kids, a family tradition. As a guy who didn't grow up camping I really love it now. I hope you guys are well wherever you are.

Take care and God bless,
Jamie

I have a camping trip planned for a few weeks from now, it's gonna be cold but I am still gonna camp out.

Summertime is when I really campout, my wife and I travel to different state parks and lakes to camp and take in the outdoors, nothing better than sitting around a campfire and cooking freshly caught fish and eating under the stars.

I plan on more of the same from April thru November. Camping every weekend and a few week days, only staying home one weekend in May to get the yard done, and other than that I have a weekend in June shot by my buddy's wedding. I am spoilt rotten with National Forest spreading out in all directions for hundreds of miles at the edge of town, 7 major rivers within 1hr drive, countless creeks and lakes, choosing is often the hardest part of going camping in North Central Idaho.

I am getting really excited for nice weather to come around. Several times I have got out my equipment and just look at it. I have also already been making trip plans with who-ever wants to go this summer. I have also been looking at/for new spots to stay. Fishing, Camping, Outdoors=can't wait.

My wife and I are in our 60's, we took a month away from winter here in the Upper Penensula of Michigan to camp along the Texas coast. A campfire at every campground (we took our cabover slide in camper on a pickup. Hopefully it will hold us til Spring and we can hook up the boat. Love the campfire at the end of each day.

Im sorry, but I have never been camping in the summer. Ive been camping many times, but always in november or october. This was before i started hunting so maybe that what everyone else is doing. I love winter camping. Its cold, but thats why we make nice big fires right? During the day, the temperature is about 45 or 50 and when you start movng it feels great. I think the summer it would be too hot. Never tried it so i cant say. I guess ill have to try summer camping, but you guys should also try winter camping. Face the elements.

I hear ya about camping, i like camping in the early spring when it still gets down around 30 deg. at night that way you can hang out by the fire and really feel its warmth. I found it funny when you talked about your wife making smores for the kids because mine does the same thing, to be honest with you i had never had any smores until i went camping with my wife, now its a tradition as it is with you. happy camping
