One time 5 of us guys went out goose hunting. Our plan was to stay out all night, albeit we only had one 3 man tent, we ended up trying to sleep on our sides. The kid behind me ended up having a "flashlight" stick into my back. After that we ended up just going home, lmao...it was too awkward.
10 duck hunters
1 tent
1 propane heater
the next morning nearly killed us
What did I learn?
dont go hunting with 10 other people we get too many "ideas"
HA
We were (much) younger. A friend and I checked weather reports before camping in Upstate NY and expected 30 degree F temperatures. A cold front blew in from the north, from Canada, and the temperature plummeted to sub-zero cold. That was one of the most bone-chilled camping trips I'd experienced, and we learned a few lessons from that.
After sighting in this year I cleaned my rifle at the range and fired a fouling shot before leaving. I packaged up the rifle and didn't open it until opening morning. When I did I found that in my effort to clean my rifle safely I had secured the external magazine in the cleaning box and didn't put it back in my rifle case when I was done. So, my brand new Savage was now a single shot. Ironically, this did not prevent me from downing a 5x5 bull 4 hours later.
